RAINBOW LITTER
Miwa’s 2nd and final litter took us to Germany. After 2 years of planning and first evaluating how her first pups are growing up, we are ready for a new adventure. Both parents are healthy and very active dogs so we are expecting puppies with a great zest for life!
MIWA & ARRAS
All puppies have found perfect forever homes!
Miwa has proven herself to be a dedicated mom, caring for her puppies and guiding them every step of the way. Miwa is a sweet and easygoing girl who loves to spend time with her family. She has a nice working drive, a good focus and can be calm when needed. She is a healthy girl, has been tested for all current genetic / health tests and her first litter shows promising qualities.
Arras is a lovely energetic boy with excellent working skills. We visited him and his owner Sophia in Germany and had to stay longer than expected, Miwa took her time, I guess she loved the hotel! This gave me a change to get to know Arras better and to see him at work. It was a wonderful time with long forest walks and the more I spent time with Arras, the more I fell in love with him. I returned home with all my fingers crossed!
LITTER THEME ‘RAINBOW’
On the first ultrasound we got great news, lots of puppies in Miwa’s belly. Can’t explain why, but there was this feeling, so we took a second ultrasound a week later and it showed only 3 puppies left.
The theme Rainbow is referring to those puppies lost.

Miwa’s progesteron level wasn’t progressing as we expected, so we travelled to Germany just to be sure we were not going to be too late. It looks like Miwa loved her stay in the hotel because even after we arrived she took 5 days to get ready. After some progesteron checks, we had 2 succesful breedings between the 2nd and the 4th of February.
On the 2nd of March we had an ultrasound, initally they saw many sacks on the screen, after a 2nd check up it appeared she only had 3 puppies left. Sad for the ones that were resorbed but also very excited for the 3 little wonders that will make their entry in a month. Now the official countdown has started!

Rainbow Litter
Puppies arrived safe and sound!
On the 7th of April 2018, 3 beautiful females were born with an emergency C-section. Miwa is recovering nicely and is taking really good care of her pups, she accepted them at first sight and is a very proud mom. Sadly one of the pups is born with a birth defect (Spina Bifida) and after a long talk with the specialist we decided to let her go. The other 2 girls are very active and are feeding well. We are looking forward to the next 8 weeks!

During birth Bondi got stuck in the birth canal and Miwa needed an emergency c-section. Due to this fact the vet said Bondi had a moment without oxygen and some extra pressure on her head. The first weeks Bondi seemed a normal puppy but as soon as she started to crawl and walk properly we noticed she had difficulties locating things and keeping her head straight. After seeing a neurologist and a physiotherapist, we started specifique training sessions with her. After this we saw great improvement. We kept Bondi until she was 4,5 months old to see how it would improve. The neurologist believes she has developed a small hearing problem, especially locating things is hard for her, but gave her green light at 8 months old. Nowadays, Bondi is a very social, happy girl with a lovely and caring home. You can almost not believe how much she has grown in her process. We are so happy, we kept this girl alive and fought for her future. She worked hard for it!

A few hours after Sparkle and her sisters came home, we noticed Sparkle wasn’t fully dried up. She had a small stain in her fur right behind her neck. Sparkle wasn’t able to crawl to her mommy to drink, her sisters made almost no contact with her, Miwa still nursed her but she didn’t interact with her like she normally does, at that moment you notice there is something wrong. Sparkle had a birth defect, the so called Spina Bifida, where there was leaking spinal fluid out of her spine. We took her to the vet, talked a lot to see all our options and contacted a specialist, but her life quality would be very poor. We made a rational, but very emotional decision to let her go and have no more pain than needed. She lived a very short life, but she was loved deeply by us and her mommy. We gave her this very fitting name, after discovering her malfunction. She sparkles every night at the sky! RIP ‘Space Sparkle’.
